Suzhou Embroidery
- A 2,000-Year Craft: Su embroidery from Suzhou, one of China's four great embroidery traditions and a national intangible cultural heritage (2006).
- Chosen for State Gifts: Su embroidery is a craft China chooses for its state gifts.
- Shaded in Fine Thread: fine silk threads in layered stitches give the peony its soft shading and sheen.

Light, Breathable Silk
- 100% Mulberry Silk: 16 momme crepe satin with a soft sheen, from a Chinese craft on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list.
- Comfortable in Every Season: a natural fibre that breathes — cool in warm weather, a light layer when it turns cold.
- Kind to Hair and Skin: smooth silk won't snag hair or rub your neck; wear it as a headscarf for less frizz.
- Two Sides: a different tone on each side, so every fold shows both.
Wear It Your Way
- 35 × 155 cm: about 13.8 × 61 in.
- Knotted, Draped or Tied: at the neck, over a coat or on a bag.
- Easy to Give: pairs with a silk sleep set.
Why AURTRS?
Heritage Crafts, Quietly Made
We work in two of China's heritage crafts: mulberry silk, a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage, and Suzhou embroidery, a national intangible cultural heritage. Both are crafts China chooses for its state gifts.
We keep our range small: mulberry silk for the night, and scarves in silk and wool carrying Suzhou embroidery, each in six colours. Fewer products means more care in the details — the weight of the silk, the finish of every seam and a box that is ready to give.

Light Enough for Every Season
Product Features
What is the scarf made of?
100% mulberry silk, 16 momme crepe satin, with a Suzhou-embroidered peony near one end. It has a different tone on each side.
What is Suzhou embroidery?
Su embroidery comes from Suzhou, China, where it has been practised for more than 2,000 years. It is one of China's four great embroidery traditions and is listed as national intangible cultural heritage. It is known for fine silk threads, delicate shading and flowers that look almost painted.
Can I wear it in my hair?
Yes. Tie it as a headscarf, a ponytail bow or a hair wrap. Silk is smooth, so it won't snag or rough up your hair the way cotton or wool can — less frizz, no creases.
What does 16 momme mean?
Momme (mm) is the weight of silk fabric. The higher the number, the denser the silk. 16 momme is a light, fluid weight that drapes well as a scarf.
How big is it?
35 × 155 cm (about 13.8 × 61 in): long enough to knot at the neck, drape over a coat or tie on a bag.
What do the badges on the photos mean?
They mark the two crafts behind this scarf. Chinese sericulture and silk craftsmanship was inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2009 (the 蚕桑丝织 seal). Su embroidery was listed in China's first batch of national intangible cultural heritage in 2006 (the 苏绣 seal). Both are crafts China chooses for its state gifts (the 国礼 seal, meaning “state gift”). The badges describe the craft, not an award given to this product.
